Personal Reflection (NEwater visit)

1)I have learnt that water is treated through multiple processes to ensure it is safe for consumption. I have also learnt that new sources of water are essential to ensure Singapore has enough water for consumption as the sources we currently have cannot be expected to last forever. Also, people put in a lot of effort into making water for us. We should not waste it.
2)I learnt about the reverse osmosis process and the ultraviolet light to filter and kill bacteria. I also learnt about how is the heat from the ultraviolet light is countered and reduced.
3)I have learnt that the holes in the filters are actually very small.
4)I can help conserve water by taking shorter showers and using leftover water from my water bottle to water plants.

person of good character

A person of good character can look like anything, looks does not determine your character. One should be helpful, have initiative to do things, and be a good role model. I think otheres would think of me as a person who can be kind at times yet hot tempered. I would want to be more calm and not flare up over small things

1 Why is communication important?
If we do not communicate, knowing what other people are trying to tell us would be hard as it would be very difficult for us to understand what people are trying to tell us.

2 What is/are your favourite form/s of communication? Why?
My favourite form of communication is the internet as it is very versatile and can be used to communicate in many ways.

3 How do you decide which form of communication to use in a situation? We need to look at what we can do in a certain situation such as if we cant make too much noise, we need to use sign language.

4 What difficulties do you face in communicating with others? Some people only know chinese and the dialects which many people from this generation do not understand. Other people could also be hearing impaired and cannot hear.

My Reflections about the orentiation camp

What are the three main points(or more) that you had learnt from all the activities?
I learnt that all members of the team must work together to reach a goal. We also must listen to the leader of the team and support him/her. Also, communication in a team is very important as if everyone of us does his/her own things, it would be very hard to get things done.
How can all this pointers be of help to you?
If we do not work together and communicate, the whole team would be very un-cordinated.
If you were to have another chance to try all the activities, which one will you choose? Why?
I would choose to repeat the telematch as it involves the whole class working together. If the whole class did not cordinate and catch the waterbombs or do the elephant rumble propely, the whole class would not be able to complete the game.
If there is one thing you would like to change about yourself, what would that be?
I would change my short-tempered character.

Places I went to during the December Holidays

I was at the Australian Hanging Rocks in December for a holiday. It was the highest point in Victoria. As I looked out at the far ridge of Australia, it signifies posssibilities and challenges ahead. This was my feeling when I got the the letter that confirmed my posting to SST.
